Bengal Tiger Cats

Bengal cats put the "b" bustling. These cats are active, alert and agile, studying the actions of their owners and learn to open cabinets, doors, and even windows, being able to climb walls, resting on top of refrigerators and other high places in the home.

They are ideal companions for those busy, active families, experienced cat owners, Families with other pets including dogs.

What do you like to do? Despite its growing popularity the Bengal tiger cat is not a cat for everyone, do better with those who have experience in the care of these animals and are willing to devote time each day to interact with them and intensive care.

They are very loquacious, capable of performing a wide range of vocalizations and squeaking sounds that make you laugh with satisfaction. Some grumble when they eat. They grow best in active households, love to play long games of searching, walking up and play with a strap water dishes and bathtubs.

History. 

The Bengal cat breed is fast growing in popularity in part because of its wildness. It began as a hybrid breed created by crossing the Asian Leopard Cat with Domestic Cat. The first "pet leopard" dates back to Japan in the 1940s, but the first appearance of Bengal leopard cats in the United States was in 1970.

As a breed, the Bengal Cats were first exhibited in cat shows in 1985. Today, the Felina International Association classifies as the most popular race, well ahead of runner Ragdoll, with more than 60,000 Bengal Cats registered TICA; however, the Cats Breeders Association, the largest register of breeds of cats in the world are not recognized as a breed.

To compete in shows, the Bengal cat must be at least a descendant of the fourth generation of a cross between the Asian Leopard Cat Wild and Domestic Cat. The aim is to keep the "wild look" with a pleasant personality domesticated. Any Bengal shows paw or other signs of aggression against a judge show is disqualified from the competition.

Appearance. 

Coveted for its wild exotic look, the Bengal cat walks like a small slightly longer leopard, elegant, muscular body, oval eyes, wide nose, strong chin, head wedge-shaped, its hind legs than front that give an impression to be stalking the walk.

TICA recognizes 13 different hair colors in competition ranging from brown brindle and to seal lynx spotted and marbled patterns and short-haired and medium that feels soft to the touch. Females can weigh 6 to 12 pounds and males average 10 to 12 pounds.
